Choose Healing Over Fear
We all carry experiences that have shaped us.
Some have left us with beautiful memories. Others have left wounds that are much harder to heal.
The truth is, every one of us has been hurt in one way or another. Whether it came through rejection, disappointment, betrayal, loss, or heartbreak, pain is part of being human.
But while we can't always choose what happened to us, we can choose what we do with it.
That choice has the power to change everything.
I've spent a lot of time reflecting on why some people seem to push love away, struggle to trust, or build walls around their hearts. The more I've thought about it, the more I've realized that so much of it comes from unresolved pain.
When we've been hurt before, protecting ourselves can feel safer than opening our hearts again.
It's understandable.
But staying there isn't where healing begins.
Healing asks us to do something incredibly courageous.
It asks us to look at the parts of ourselves we've been trying to avoid.
It asks us to face uncomfortable emotions instead of burying them.
It asks us to let go of fear, little by little, and believe that our past doesn't have to determine our future.
None of this is easy.
Growth rarely happens inside our comfort zone.
There will be moments when healing feels exhausting. Moments when taking one more step forward feels impossible.
But don't give up.
Keep going.
Because every step you take toward healing is a step toward freedom.
One of the most beautiful things you can do is choose not to let your past harden your heart.
Don't close yourself off because someone else hurt you.
Don't stop believing in love because you've experienced disappointment.
Don't assume that everyone will treat you the way someone once did.
Keep your heart open.
Stay kind.
Allow yourself to receive love.
Allow yourself to be vulnerable with the people who have earned your trust.
There is incredible strength in remaining soft in a world that often teaches us to become guarded.
Fear convinces us that closing our hearts will protect us.
Healing reminds us that love is still worth choosing.
As you continue healing, you'll also begin to notice something else.
Your intuition becomes easier to recognize.
Fear is often loud and urgent.
Intuition is usually calm, steady, and peaceful.
Learning to recognize that quiet inner voice takes time, but it's one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. It can gently guide you toward people and situations that bring peace and away from those that don't.
Healing doesn't mean you'll never experience pain again.
It means that pain no longer controls the way you live, love, or see yourself.
What Healing Can Look Like
Healing doesn't always begin with a life-changing moment.
More often, it begins with small decisions you make every single day.
It might look like:
Going to therapy or working with a coach.
Spending time alone to understand yourself instead of constantly distracting yourself.
Journaling honestly about your emotions.
Allowing yourself to cry instead of suppressing your feelings.
Learning to communicate instead of shutting down.
Taking responsibility for your triggers instead of expecting others to carry them.
Choosing relationships where you feel emotionally safe.
Forgiving—not because what happened was okay, but because you deserve peace.
Praying and inviting God into the places that still need healing.
Healing is not about becoming perfect.
It's about becoming free.
Free from the fear that once controlled you.
Free from the beliefs that told you you weren't enough.
Free to love again.
Free to trust again.
Free to become the person you were always created to be.
If you're currently walking through your own healing journey, I want to encourage you today:
Don't rush the process.
Don't compare your timeline to someone else's.
Don't lose hope when progress feels slow.
Keep choosing healing.
One small step at a time.
Your past may be part of your story, but it doesn't have to write your future.
With love,
Michèle
